I know I’ve mentioned it in posts before, to reiterate, I have weddings back to back from July – August, and I have nothing to wear. Luckily, my best friend’s wedding is in the mix, so I have no choice but to wear this stunning J. Crew dress down the isle! Can’t wait.
So, with one dress down, I have three more to purchase. I did think about wearing the same dress to all three. NO JUDGEMENT! Believe it or not, no friends attending the wedding will overlap. Isn’t that amazing? My only concern? What will Facebook think! Three different wedding albums with the same dress…do I really care? A little. Oh the vanity!
What do you think!? Maybe I should add some color…but I just love black.
Last night during Yoga I was face down on my mat, chin steadied on a towel, looking forward. I tried not to focus on the feet in front of me but my eyes were tired (after 75 minutes of hot, rigorous movement, my body lays limp.) The feet were clean with a freckle here and there and a few blisters.
I started to think about where the feet had traveled that day. Did they go to work? Were they wearing flip flops? Are they tired? Do they wear socks to bed? What is their preferred polish color? How often do they get pedicured?
This post comes on the heels of a journey I am about to take. This upcoming change is one that I have been waiting for. A job move!
After the last pose, I settled into shavasana and started to flashback to where my feet have been since graduating college.
It’s funny when you look back and think about all that you’ve been through. High school seems like a lifetime away. My first job feels like a distant dream and it’s as if I started at my most recent position yesterday – I can’t believe it’s been two years.
My feet are excited and anticipating walking into my new role come July.
Do you ever look on your path through life so far and think…where has all the time gone?
After a fun filled three years, my beau and I are saying goodbye to law school. Good riddance!
The funny thing about graduating law school is that it’s not so much of a celebration than it is a good bye to friends and family before BAR hibernation. I capitalize “BAR” in an attempt to specify it’s large and scary meaning.
Moms present flowers, girlfriends give watches, briefcases, and wallets (guilty), and yummy dinners commence, all in support and congrats to the new Juris Doctor. *See below for my JD.
Since he isn’t as thrilled as he will be when he completes and passes the BAR, I’m wondering if two more celebrations need to be planned for the aftermath of both the aforementioned. I want to throw a huge party for the job he landed. Then I want to bake a cake for the day the BAR is over, and then I want to blow up balloons for the day he finds out he has passed (crosses fingers). What a long winded celebration. Too be honest, I could celebrate this forever!
The party that followed graduation consisted of accessories and fish!
I gifted this gorgeous Nixon watch and this Jack Spade wallet for his success – thoughts?
My mom was stumped on what to purchase for him, so I suggested this Filson bag. Perfect for when he rides his bike…
And to top it all off, dinner was delicious at Michael’s. My mom and I split the Branzino and Scallops. If you have a special occasion coming up, may I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was perfect and the food was fresh! See more from the menu here.
The night was magical. We said congrats to all the friends he’s made over the past three years, met some of his professors, and spent time with family. Oh the journeys to come…
After a weekend filled with flip flops and platform sneakers, I’ve decided I must purchase a pair of fancy flat sandals for the season. Who What Wear gave some great suggestions.
Which are your favorite?
Mine are 3 and 7.
The Loeffler Randal sandals are subtle with a neon trim and the Rebecca Minkoff are a bit louder – perfect to pair with a white shorts.
This weekend felt extremely long which is a good thing until it’s time to wake up for work.
I had to wake up as early as a work day Saturday morning. I had to prepare for my best friend’s bridal shower. I had no idea what to wear so I went crazy at Urban Outfitters. The dressing room was a dress mess. What do you think about the one I chose? I dressed it up with some layered necklaces, glittery bandeau tube top, and some bangles. The shower was a blast!
We celebrated at Zoe Bistro in Little Silver. The menu was the perfect combination of plates from a pear and Gorgonzola salad to salmon with mashed potatoes. Delish!
The fish frenzy continued at Avenue later that night in a catch up dinner with my mom. The Branzino was to die for. I highly recommend it.
Sunday morning came and it was time to jet back to the city. The Jersey shore is a nice short vacation spot but I was craving a picnic/lay out session on the grass by the east river. That’s exactly what I got on Monday afternoon. After a short run along the river my beau and I got our two hour city picnic time. I read “We Are The Mullvaney’s” as he studied for the BAR. What we wish we had, which we contemplate every summer, is a staple beach blanket. I would consider purchasing one of these by Steven Alan recommended by Joanna Goddard.
Looking forward to another long weekend! I have a law school graduation to attend next Monday. Joy!!
I would start by telling you about Matt Wisneiwski, a talented artist, but his homepage says it all.
I was browsing his work for a while before choosing a favorite. It’s hard to choose just one.
I picked the picture below because it reminds me of Kanye West’s music video, Runaway. The feather-like imprints in the woman’s hair are like that of the bird woman in the music video linked above. The image is calming and ethereal. Her eye makeup and simple nude lips compliment the shadows and lines of her jaw and cheek bones.
